“3-in-1 Digital Box” hits the stage: Showcasing the market-ready CEA, CMP, and ADAS capabilities, driving the next phase of the Group’s intelligent mobility in China

3-in-1 Digital Box

Led by the Group’s local intelligent connected vehicle development center Volkswagen Group China Technology Company (VCTC) and the Group’s software powerhouse CARIAD China, the integration among the Group’s locally developed key technologies will be highlighted through the demonstrator “3-in-1 Digital Box” at this year’s CIIE for the first time, illustrating the tangible progress of local innovation under the “In China, for China” strategy. These technologies cover the Compact Main Platform (CMP), China Electronic Architecture (CEA) and ADAS solutions, collectively demonstrating the strong competitiveness of the Group’s next generation ICVs in the Chinese market.

Leveraging the CMP developed by VCTC, the Group integrates industry-leading battery systems, electric drive technologies, and high-standard German engineering excellence. It can realize the perfect blend of Volkswagen standards of safety, durability, and reliability in multiple driving scenarios including extreme circumstances, with innovative technology tailored to local customers’ demands.

As the Group’s first local zonal E/E architecture, CEA, which is jointly developed by VCTC, CARIAD China and XPeng, will highlight its breakthroughs of achieving more flexible and efficient vehicle control by embedding AI capabilities, turning the car into an immersive, intelligent space with AI agent as personalized accompany and assistant.

Updates on ADAS solutions developed by CARIZON, CARIAD’s joint venture with Horizon Robotics, will be concretely presented with driving scenarios as well. Leveraging on CARIZON’s self-owned AI data platform GAIA, the ADAS capabilities can achieve a major leap in perception, prediction, and planning, laying the groundwork for the Group’s current ADAS solutions as one reliable choice for Chinese customers, and paving the way of Volkswagen Group’s future L3-and-above automated driving solutions in Chinese market.

Collectively, these capabilities constitute the backbone of the Group’s next-generation ICVs in China, with first deliveries starting in 2026.

Robust product lineup at CIIE: Delivery Mode on full swing

Marking a starting year of “Delivery Mode” of the strategic transformation, Volkswagen Group China brings a compelling lineup of models to CIIE.

Volkswagen Group China and its brand models present at 2025 CIIE

The Volkswagen brand showcases three intelligent connected vehicle concepts, whose mass-produced versions will be launched onto the market starting from 2026, reaffirming the brand’s innovation strength and commitment to meeting Chinese customers’ evolving needs.

大众汽车品牌ID. AURA

The ID. AURA, the brand’s first A-segment all-electric sedan concept built on the Compact Main Platform (CMP), is powered by the China Electronic Architecture (CEA), the smart “brain” of Volkswagen’s next-generation ICVs. It offers Level 2++ ADAS and an AI-powered assistant with a newly designed UI/UX and customizable OS, making every interaction fast, intuitive, and seamless.

大众汽车品牌ID. ERA

The ID. ERA is Volkswagen’s first extended-range full-size SUV concept. It will feature Level 2++ City NOA and a Chinese LLM-based AI assistant and innovative Smart Surface screens, delivering an immersive, intelligent driving experience tailored for Chinese customers.

大众汽车品牌ID. EVO

The ID. EVO, a full-size all-electric SUV designed for young, urban users, combines an up to 700 km (CLTC) range and 800 V ultra-fast charging with a new operating system, UNYX HMI, and a 3D virtual assistant. Together with the Gen X steering wheel for intuitive control and Level 2++ City NOA, it ensures a safer and more comfortable drive.

Audi takes the stage at this year’s CIIE with two all-electric models and one classic model. The two all-electric models— the A6L e-tron and AUDI E5 Sportback — showcase Audi’s accelerated progress and latest milestones in electrification in China. With its dual-brand strategy, local partnerships, and next-generation product portfolio, Audi underscores how the synergy of German precision and Chinese innovation is shaping the future of premium mobility.

奥迪E5 Sportback

The first production model of the new AUDI brand, AUDI E5 Sportback stays remarkably true to the forward-looking design of its concept car while inheriting Audi’s iconic Sportback silhouette. Deeply integrating local innovations, it features an ultra-intuitive intelligent digital cockpit and advanced driver assistance systems that seamlessly cover urban, highway, and parking scenarios. With its high-performance powertrain and sophisticated chassis technology, the model perfectly combines dynamic sportiness with premium comfort.

奥迪A6L e-tron

In addition, the Audi A6L e-tron is the second fully electric model from Audi based on the Premium Platform Electric (PPE). Its wheelbase has been extended by 130 millimetres compared to the global version, offering maximum comfort and space, especially in the second row. This model has larger battery with a capacity of 107 kilowatt-hours and sets new standards in terms of range (up to 770 kilometres), efficiency and charging speed thanks to an advanced all-electric powertrain with 800-volt technology.

奥迪100 Coupé S

Alongside them, the Audi 100 Coupé S, a heritage model from more than half a century ago, embodies the pioneering spirit that continues to inspire the brand’s journey forward. As the first coupé launched after Audi’s revival in 1969, the Audi 100 Coupé S symbolized the brand’s confident return to innovation and ambition. Its elegant fastback silhouette, refined engineering and luxurious interior trims defined Audi’s sporty yet sophisticated character, laying the foundation for the brand’s modern design language.

Porsche presents two iconic 911 models in a timeless dialogue that blends classic heritage with bold innovation.

保时捷新款911 Turbo S

The new 911 Turbo S makes its Asian premiere at this year's CIIE. Powered by an innovative twin turbo powertrain with T Hybrid technology, it becomes the most powerful production 911 to date. The 523 kW (711 PS) sports car with all-wheel drive combines outstanding performance, the top speed is 322 km/h, maximum torque of the powertrain is 800 Nm. It comes standard with the electro-hydraulically controlled Porsche Dynamic Chassis Control (ehPDCC), which improves cornering agility and reduces body roll during direction changes. Additionally, it adopts a new aerodynamic concept that optimizes cooling effects and operational efficiency. Thanks to these comprehensive advancements, the new 911 Turbo S has set a compelling lap time of 7:03.92 minutes on the Nürburgring Nordschleife – approximately 14 seconds faster than its predecessor, underscoring its status as the benchmark in the field of luxury high-performance sports cars.

保时捷911 S Targa

This year marks a milestone in the 911 legacy – the 60th anniversary of the 911 Targa. Debuted in 1965, the 911 Targa introduced a groundbreaking design with its fixed roll bar, creating the world’s first safety cabriolet. This innovation blended "the open-air freedom of a convertible" with "safety protection." Its timeless design has stood as an icon of elegance ever since. On display at this year's CIIE booth is a 1969 911 S Targa, standing alongside the 911 Turbo S to jointly showcase the timeless charm of Porsche’s iconic 911.
