China Board
Currently the Board of Management of Volkswagen Group China comprises ten members. Each Board Member is responsible for one or more functions within Volkswagen Group China.

Ralf Brandstätter, VGC

•   Chairman and CEO of Volkswagen Group China


On August 1, 2022, Ralf Brandstätter was appointed Chairman and CEO of Volkswagen Group China, and also serves as the Chairman of the China Board, taking responsibility for the China region, including the Group's brands and joint ventures. Ralf Brandstätter is responsible for the China region on the Board of Management of Volkswagen AG.

 

Ralf Brandstätter joined Volkswagen AG in 1993. Over nearly three decades, he has accumulated a wealth of experience in procurement, before moving to various managerial positions within the Group, including General Representative of Volkswagen AG and CEO of the Volkswagen Passenger Cars brand, among others.

 

CHANG Qing, CARIAD China

•   CEO of CARIAD China

 

In December 2021, Chang Qing was appointed as the CEO of CARIAD China and is responsible for leading CARIAD’s China strategy.

 

Since joining the Volkswagen Group in 1990, Chang Qing has gained extensive experience in the development for vehicles and the Group's platform. As a co-founder of CARIAD, Chang Qing was responsible for product and portfolio management in the company’s Germany headquarters.

 

Marcus Hafkemeyer, VGC

•   Executive Vice President and CTO of Volkswagen Group China Responsible for R&D

 

On August 1, 2022, Marcus Hafkemeyer was appointed CTO of Volkswagen Group China.

 

With 25 years of R&D and management experience, Marcus Hafkemeyer, is an expert in the field of electrification and digitization. He has extensive experience in the Chinese market, having held management positions in various automotive companies.

 

Olaf Korzinovski, VGC

•   Executive Vice President of Volkswagen Group China Responsible for Components, Logistics and QA

 

On April 1, 2023, Olaf Korzinovski was appointed Executive Vice President of Volkswagen Group China, responsible for Components, Logistics and QA, as well as Member of the Board of Management.

 

In 1997, Olaf Korzinovski started his career at Volkswagen. He was Technical Managing Director in Volkswagen Automatic Transmission(Tianjin), then took over the management of Volkswagen’s Kassel plant. And he was Chief Operation Officer of Volkswagen Group Components. He is an expert in the field of engineering with extensive management experience in China.

 

Dr. Liu Yunfeng, VGC

•   Executive Vice President of Volkswagen Group China Responsible for Corporate & JV Affairs


In January 2019, Dr. Liu Yunfeng was appointed Executive Vice President of Volkswagen Group China responsible for Corporate & JV Affairs, and Member of the Board of Management.

 

Dr. Liu received a Ph.D. in Economics at Leipzig University in 2003. In the following year, he joined Volkswagen Group China, and has gained extensive experience in project operations and product management. Starting from 2013, he served as the Head of Shareholder & JV Affairs.

 

Stefan Mecha, VGC

•   CEO of Volkswagen China Passenger Cars Brand

•   Head of Group Sales of Volkswagen Group China


On August 1, 2022, Stefan Mecha was appointed Head of Group Sales of Volkswagen Group China and CEO of Volkswagen Passenger Cars Brand for China.

 

Stefan Mecha joined Volkswagen AG in 2005 and has held management positions within the Volkswagen Group in Europe, the Middle East, South Africa, and South America, where he gained substantial experience in sales and marketing.

 

Dr. Jörg Mull, VGC

•  Executive Vice President of Volkswagen Group China Responsible for Finance


 

On September 1, 2021, Dr. Jörg Mull was appointed Executive Vice President of Volkswagen Group China responsible for Finance, and Member of the Board of Management.

 

In 2002, Dr. Mull joined Volkswagen AG. In nearly 2 decades, Dr. Mull has held various positions as CFO of group entities, including at Volkswagen AG in Germany, Volkswagen Group China, Bentley Motors in the UK, as well as Volkswagen Anhui in China, and was able to gain profound knowledge in finance functions.

 

Jens Pfitzinger, VGC

•   Executive Vice President of Volkswagen Group China Responsible for Human Resources, Organization & ITP


 

On November 1, 2018, Jens Pfitzinger was appointed Executive Vice President of Volkswagen Group China responsible for Human Resources, Organization & ITP, and Member of the Board of Management.

 

In 2001, Pfitzinger joined Volkswagen AG. Over the past 20 years, he has held various managerial positions within the Group, including at Volkswagen AG in Germany, ŠKODA AUTO in Czech Republic and other Group entities, with profound knowledge and management experience in human resources, enterprise strategy, and organization design and development.

 

Alfonso Sancha, VGC

•   Executive Vice President of Volkswagen Group China Responsible for Purchasing


 

On July 1, 2023, Alfonso Sancha was appointed Executive Vice President of Volkswagen Group China responsible for Purchasing.

 

Alfonso Sancha is an expert in the field of procurement with extensive management experience internationally. He previously held senior positions in Germany, Mexico, and China, and was already responsible for purchasing at Volkswagen Group China as Executive Vice President from 2011 to 2014, having gained a deep understanding of the Chinese market.

 

Dr. Jürgen Unser, Audi China

•   Audi China President


 

Since 1 January 2022 Dr. Jürgen Unser is President of Audi China.

 

In 2004, Dr. Jürgen Unser joined Volkswagen AG. For the past almost 20 years, he has held various managerial positions at Volkswagen AG in Germany, Audi AG, and FAW-Volkswagen Co. Ltd. in China, and he has deep expertise and experience in production, R&D, and product management.
